Single Cell Gene Expression Pilot Study Program Print E-mail
Tuesday, 25 September 2018 00:00

Single-Cell Gene Expression Pilot Study Program - Reduced pricing for new projects!

Single cell gene expression studies, particularly using the 10X Chromium system, are a particularly well funded area of research. However, it can be difficult to obtain data for grant  applications due to the high cost associated with sample processing. Consequently, we (Micromon are working with 10X Genomics (the manufacturer) and Decode Science (the Australian distributor), to support and assist research groups who are seeking to generate preliminary data for grant applications.

  • Samples will be prepared with the 10X Genomics Single Cell 3' Library chemistry.
  • Up to 50% reduction in library construction cost
  • Limit of 4 samples (up to 10,000 cells per sample), per project
  • Must be used for an upcoming grant application to leverage additional funding

The number of applicants for the program are limited, so contact us now for further information!

Did you know that Monash also hosts Technology Research Platforms in addition to Micromon (genomics), including FlowCore (flow cytometry) and the Monash Bioinformatics Platform (bioinformatics)? Together, we have the resources and expertise to help facilitate your single cell project from cell sorting to data analysis.

10X Chromium Seminar Print E-mail
Tuesday, 02 May 2017 00:00

Seminar: 10X Genomics: A new technology for Single Cell Transcriptomics & Long-Range Genomics

Joseph Aman, Senior Applications Scientist at 10X Genomics
Room G19, 15 Innovation Walk (STRIP 1)
Monash University, Clayton Campus

10X Genomics, in collaboration with Millenium Science and Micromon, will present a seminar on the Chromium™ System which supports comprehensive genomics and high-throughput single cell transcriptomics with its innovative reagent delivery system.

This technology, which is now available at Micromon (Monash University), enables the discovery of previously inaccessible genetic information at massive rate and scale (including phased structural variants, phased single nucleotide variants, and dynamic gene expression of individual cells).

Contact us now for parking details and to book your place. Please note that an RSVP is required.

10X Chromium Single Cell Genomics at Micromon Print E-mail
Monday, 06 March 2017 00:00

Micromon has acquired a 10X Genomics Chromium Controller, which enables us to carry out single-cell transcriptomics for up to 48,000 single cells per instrument run. We are currently completing the instrument installation and validation, and we expect to launch a comprehensive service with this instrumentation soon.

Micromon has partnered with Melbourne-based company SI Systems to offer a range of bioinformatic support options tailored to your research needs. Together we can scope, plan, budget, execute and analyse your next-generation sequencing requirements as a tightly integrated package - from start to finish. Analyses include genome assembly, transcriptome assembly, exome analysis, non-coding RNA analysis, SNP detection and reporting, metagenomics, differential gene expression analysis/transcriptomics, pathway and gene ontology analysis, analysis pipeline construction and custom analysis design. If you're familiar with Next-Generation Sequencing, simply tells us what you need. If you're unfamiliar with the technology, or just unsure, then call us to make an appointment with Micromon and SI Systems staff to translate your biological questions into sequencing and bioinformatic solutions.
