UPGRADE TO THE MICROMON FACILITY - HIGHER QUALITY, LONGER READS, GREATER THROUGHPUT

The sequencing facility at Micromon currently uses the Illumina GAII high-throughput sequencing platform for sequence production. Recently, Illumina announced the release of an upgraded GAIIx which allows longer read lengths at higher quality and consistency as well as an increase in throughput up to 20% compared to the current GAII. Micromon has scheduled an upgrade to bring the facility in line with the current state-of-the-art in Illumina high throughput sequencing. This is expected to take place around mid-July.
